New Study Results Show Breakthrough Technology Removes Common Flu Virus From a Home's Filtered Air

Study Reveals Trane CleanEffectsTM Removes More Than 99 Percent of the Influenza A Virus

TYLER, Texas - During flu season and throughout the year, families are exposed to viruses that circulate in the air they breathe indoors, so taking measures to prevent illness makes sense. Getting a flu shot, eliminating germs on surfaces through cleaning, and washing hands often are important steps to avoid getting the flu. Yet, many people are still susceptible to the virus in the air in their home. The main way influenza viruses are spread is from person-to-person in respiratory droplets of coughs or sneezes1. Now, first-of-its-kind research conducted by researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health, in collaboration with scientists at Environmental Health and Engineering Inc., (EH&E) shows that Trane CleanEffectsTM, a whole-house air filtration system, removes more than 99 percent of the common flu, or influenza A virus from the filtered air. Because of the similarities among types of influenza viruses, Harvard and EH&E researchers concluded that Trane CleanEffects will remove more than 99 percent of other forms of the virus, including influenza B, influenza C and avian influenza (also a strain of influenza A virus) from the filtered air.

Oh No! Pollen Season Is Here!!!!

Do you have an Air Doctor?

Have you ever considered a Heating and Air Conditioning Company to be your Air Doctor? Well, if you have good for you because you're right.

Most people do not realize the effects that bad air can have on your health. The American Lung Association did a study that proved American's spend 90% of their time indoors. Most people live and work indoors increasing there risks to bad air.

We are depending on our Heating and Cooling System to keep us warm and cool. But do we ever question our safety when it comes to our Heating and Cooling Systems? Well we should. Without the proper high efficient air filters, we are breathing in pollen, molds, fungal spores, viruses, bacteria, smoke, pet dander and dust mites. And as if that were not enough we are also breathing in gas combustion by-products like outgassing from carpets, furniture, plywood, drywall, cleaning supplies and other personal products. Are you comfortable knowing you and your family are breathing these pollutants into your bodies? Well of course your not.

For those of us with seasonal allergies, boy oh boy, the descriptions above are even worse. People with seasonal allergies inhale pollen, dust, dust mites, animal dander, and other pollutants that fill the air, triggering the release of histamine chemicals.

Is Your Duct System Robbing You! PDF Print E-mail
Written by Rob Eubanks, Owner

Is your heating and air conditioning duct system robbing you of comfort and energy savings?  Throughout my many years of experience in the heating and air conditioning industry, one of the biggest and commonly overlooked problems in homes and businesses is the duct system.  The air distribution system, which is sometimes referred to as the duct system, is what carries heated and cooled air to every room in our homes or businesses.  Many people live in homes and work in businesses every day that have certain areas that are too hot or too cold depending on the outdoor temperature.  This can be caused by many things, but most of the time it is from a poorly designed duct system or one that has excessive air leakage.  When I use the term “leakage”, I am referring to the air that you have just paid to heat or cool which is actually leaking into your crawl space or attic.  The North Carolina Alternative Energy Corporation did a test study on air conditioning efficiencies of units versus actual efficiencies after new systems were installed and found 90% exhibited some sort of energy wasting or comfort robbing problem.
