We Treat Your Home Like It's Our Own

What Makes A Tankless Water Heater More Efficient?

You’ve received your water bill from the city of Tyrone, Georgia, and it’s even more disappointing than last month’s. Despite your efforts to limit water usage in your home, your utility costs keep going up. A tankless water heater may be the answer to your problems. Simultaneously cut your utility costs and enjoy more hot water by switching to a tankless water heater.

What Is a Tankless Water Heater?

Most homes include a storage tank water heater, in which an insulated tank holds between 30 and 50 gallons of water and heats and stores the water until it’s needed in other areas of the home. A tankless water heater, on the other hand, pumps water through a heat exchanger and uses powerful burners to quickly heat water. That water then goes directly to your faucets without being stored in a tank.

While you may have to sometimes wait for a standard storage tank water heater to warm up the entire tank before you have hot water, the tankless water heater can constantly provide hot water, no matter how many people have showered that day.

What Makes Tankless Water Heaters More Efficient?

Tankless water heaters are far more efficient than their cousins. Heating an entire tank takes a significant amount of energy, much of which is wasted. Since a tankless water heater pumps and heats water as needed, it wastes far less energy heating that water. Homeowners with these water heaters tend to experience between 24 and 34 percent more energy efficiency. Even if you have a large family and use plenty of hot water (even up to 86 gallons in a day), a tankless water heater will still be between 8 and 14 percent more efficient than standard water heaters.

Since tankless water heaters are more efficient, they will also experience less strain, which means they’ll last longer than conventional water heaters.

Upgrade to a tankless water heater and enjoy all the energy efficiency your home has been missing. To have a tankless water heater installed, call us at Trinity Air Heating and Air Conditioning at (770) 691-5394.
